I have been looking through my childhood stamp album and found this. Been searching the internet but not found any info. Can anyone throw some light on it for me? Thank you.

It's a cut-out from Victorian postal stationery, so it won't be in Gibbons. No monetary value.

Regarding the POSTMARK FB over M

According to Brumell, the letters A, C, D, or M indicated the amount of postage due, or the amount of postage paid.

I have not read Brumell, or read anything to substantiate this.

Eeeeek!

In my humble opinion, no stamp deserves the bin.
But it is yours to do what you must.
I collect them, as do some others, collecting value lies in the identifying and scholarly investigation.
Cash Value is minimal.

If others , before us, had not collected and investigated,
I would not be here to solve your question, and made you happy.

See?

Hint: That schoolboy in you, had decided to collect that piece,
and keep it in your album. Respect that little boy's decision ?

#128514; good point! I will preserve it and hopefully some day someone will get the good of it.
Interesting background you found on it. Much appreciated.

Foreign Branch "Printed Matter" strikes.
Artistic Licence must be afforded here, as these are the author's pen images, I presume.
I have never witnessed discussions on the hammer construction, but the common smudgy impressions would suggest cut rubber.
Years of usage not opined by Curt N Furnau.

Further study identifies your FB over M

The Die was issued on 9th November 1896
36 dies were issued, and were made of FELT
Stitt-Dibden Type #39 (Replaced Hammer Alpha "A")

Source:
Newspaper Branch Cancellations
W. G. Stitt-Dibden
Special series Publication No 27 (Page 24)
Reigate Surrey
England
October 1971

Suggestion: These dies were used on the MIDDAY DUTY

Note: It is not uncommon to find these Pmks, struck on adhesives and wrapper stamps of high denomination, due to the high volume of traffic, of Newspapers going overseas, and by differing routes.
