Salaam (Which Means Hello) From Iran

I live in Tabriz which is close to Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Used to collect model cars at first but as my passion for collecting grew I started to see pleasure in collecting everything. Started collecting in 2018 but it wasn't serious until about a year ago. I'm *more into transportation, buildings and characters whether it's a politician or scientist or any other. I love stamps of Arab countries, USSR, US, Japan... well who am I kidding I love them all! Sadly Iran's own pre-revolution stamps, the good ones, are skyrocketing and currently I'm not able to afford it. I also collect coins, banknotes and first day covers. This was me. Nice to meet you. I have an album full of Iran/Persia. The early designs are beautiful, and really colourful. So many forgeries out there because of the prices, but plenty of genuine beauties whcih aren't too pricey.

I think you'll find many others here that collect not only worldwide stamps but other things as well. Please tour the threads here on SCF, particularly ones involving themes/topics/subjects.

Welcome sadiq! I lived in neighboring Countries to the East and West for six years and know the neighborhood so to speak. Did a lot of stamp hunting during that time but never had much success. Hopefully you know where the goods are.

This forum is a great place with good people. Sometimes we get testy with each other but mostly we share the bond of collecting.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ

Interesting to know that Iran pre revolution stamps are more expensive. Having said that, its about time I start spend more time on arabic philately.
