The odds are against it being genuine but I watched Storage Wars for years and was shocked at the stuff within sometimes.

You mean the stuff the producers salted in the lockers before they opened them and the cameras rolled?

The odds here are about the same as them finding the Oak Island treasure.

Oak Island narrator voice.."A signed and flown moon cover? On Oak Island?????"

If you Google every single show on TV, there are claims of every one of them being "fake". I am sure that it does happen but based upon my own small town auction experience it is entirely possible to make finds. In fact, I made thousands on the autographs that I found and thousands more on baseball cards in a $25 box lot. I am a cynic by nature, but it happened so who knows.

What we need is to know is if the cover in question has impressions from the pens.

Absolutely! Most of us have made a score on a box lot of one sort or another.

Perhaps I could summarize by saying your experience was unscripted while Storage Wars is scripted?!

could they have been added by autopen?

Autopen signatures in the Space world are probably more common than real signatures.

Need to be very careful spending big money on signed space related covers.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHH - that guy. "Could it BEEEEEEEE....."

At some point, someone will be able to take all 17 years of that program and boil it down to a decent 2 hour special - start to finish.

Mystery Solved ?!

I believe this item is a FLEETWOOD facsimile.

On the reverse of the cover it states this.

I found it while researching Astronaut Autopen Signatures at this site:

http://www.astroautopens.com/

(Go down to Crew and Group Preprints and choose Apollo 11)

It is a copy.

Comments?

John

I did pull it out and it is a facsimile like John said, I try not to remove the items from the sleeves or wax envelopes unless I need to get a closer look

Do not feel left out. You had a time where comments were coming thick and fast and then silence....

Do not let this worry you. It is nothing personal. It was about the situation and the looking for an answer which was found so silence is what happens after the answer. It is not personal.

Keep on track with your collecting. Just keep sharing as you find stuff as you have been. You have been doing it very well. Just keep going forward!
