Hello,

I'm a french philatelist and I have Washington/Franklin unused stamps that I would like to authentificate (Philatelic Foundation) without any mistake/risk in the process - from France to the USA.

What should I be careful about?

You will find in this post some pictures of my stamps.

All your advices will be useful and well appreciated ! Also on identification and appreciation on the quality of my stamps !

Why do you want to get the stamps certified? The cost of shipment and certification far surpasses the value of the stamps.

As you said that the certification and shipment will cost than the actual value of the stamps, would you mind telling me how much money you think they worth ? And also how did you identify them ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

The 5 cent Washington's are not color errors nor bluish paper nor rare perf varieties. The same holds true for the 2 cent Washington's and the 1 cent Franklin's. I assume that you have identified them yourself given that you felt they were certification worthy.

The highest per stamp cv for MNH is around $160. That is for faultless well centered stamps. Your stamps have a mix of creases, disturbed gum and poor centering, all of which will drastically negatively affect the value and will be noted on certificates.

Sorry to be honest. I just don't see any value in having them certified.

You can take the money you would have spent on certifications and buy more stamps.
