I have had this stamp for a long time and I'm not sure
exactly what's going on with the left and bottom margins.
I'm wondering if this a corner. If so, it's amazing that it
escaped reperfing.

Would appreciate your input. Thank you much.

If it were a corner, the cut sides would be straight and perpendicular.

The right-side perfs cut well into the design,
so most likely a poorly centered stamp was scissor cut from a sheet or cover.

I'm unfamiliar with the size of the selvage on the sheets of those stamps but many were sizable enough that they would need to be trimmed to fit on what was being sent. I doubt there were any perfs trimmed.

This issue was perforated between the stamps and the selvedge which means that the OP's stamp has been trimmed.
