I see no watermark. This was not bought to be anything it was in with a collection we bought and I'm trying to see if it can be a place holder or just a a position in the stock folder.
Reddeye, I have several of these mis-cut strips in my collection, but some folks may call these damaged. Personally I do believe they have a place in a specialized collection
I would consider it as a great example of what might happen when these devices were used. It's not exactly "damaged". I think of these the way I think of badly off center stamps, except that this has a story and is therefore collectable.
thanks revcollector. I had no clue this was applied in that way. I'm understanding this a little more now and can appreciate things being used as intended.
The whole reason for imperf stamps of the first third of the 20th century was for the vending and affixing machine companies. That is why those stamps and that section of the Scott Specialized exists. Also the imperforate coils section, which is almost certainly what this stamp actually is.
