Mrita, I like those Mexican stamps in your most recent post. I recognize the scene depicted. It's the Zocalo, the central plaza in Mexico City, with the cathedral on the left and the Presidential Palace on the right. In about 1982, my wife and I spent about 5 days in Mexico City, staying in a hotel directly opposite the Presidential Palace. We would be woken up every morning at about 6:00 AM by a bugle when a few soldiers did a flag-raising ceremony in the middle of the Zocalo. And, incidentally, it's funny how the airplanes depicted on those early air mail stamps, your Mexican ones and my Danish ones, look like the wind-up rubber band models you can buy in toy and hobby shops. I guess those early planes, because they relied on engines with a pretty low power to weight ratio, had to scrimp on the other material to save overall weight and so basically were pretty flimsy.
