Can anyone, please, tell me where I find these in the SG catalogue. These are just a couple I couldn't find, I will post more later. Also, what happened to East China? In an old catalogue I have, East China was listed under the China section, now it's not. Where did they move it too? At the moment I only have the A-C catalogue out of the library, so I can't search any others. Steve

The area centres on a section of Zhongshan Road (East-1 Zhongshan Road) within the former Shanghai International Settlement, which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River, facing Pudong, in the eastern part of Huangpu District. The Bund usually refers to the buildings and wharves on this section of the road, as well as some adjacent areas. The Bund is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Shanghai. Building heights are restricted in this area. |

Thanks, Rod, I'm a goose, relying on my memory, I meant where is Central China, not East China. DOH! I still can't find it though, in the 2008 catalouge. Number two, I had the same problem, can't find it without overprint. Steve |

You're not a goose Steve, China can be quite challenging to anybody, to coin an old Aussie phrase, Cataloguing China is a "Peck's Paste" job...a little goes a long way I usually attack a few uncatalogued stamps once a week. I thought I had seen every Dr. Sun Yat Sen stamp in existence, then you come along and show me another (still cannot find stamp 2) In SG Specialised..Asia Central China is listed under the broad heading "Chinese People's Republic" Part 1. Regional Issues ~ Central China Where it is in your catalogue I cannot tell. (BTW nice HANKOW cancel on the Bund stamp) |

Steve, it looks like SG has removed central China from its Stamps of the World Catalogue now.

Getting all a bit confusing, but the Sun Yat Sen $1 stamp, between the Taiwan and Manchukuo POSB stamp is another PO Savings Bank stamp, if I'm reading the Chinese in the cartouches at left and right correctly. |

Thanks Tony, that was a real head scratcher Joins the long list of the Sun Yat Sen Family. Stamp 1: as Tony Pointed out National Savings and reconstruction (I didn't have the Orange example, a new one for me) President Lin Sen Stamp 2: as Tony pointed out National Savings and reconstruction stamps. the "little men" figurines are early Chinese coins. The set: Stamp 3: SG0984 (1947) T122 $1800 progress postal blue postal bus Stamp 4: Central China SGCC33 (1949) T4 $200 star enclosing map of hankow area litho kuo kwang ptg. Co Hankow issued july 1949 p10, p11.5 and compound perf part of a set of 11 Revenues: be aware there is a post in this Forum by Zhang Cheng that covers some of these. Apparently some revenues exist with over 10,000 overprints ... a collection nightmare The last (revenue overprint) , I cannot locate the underlying stamp It should be SGEC 65 (1950) $15 train and postal runner shown as "vermillion" yours looks orange, may be weathered? watch for two perforations. My SG numbers are not to be relied upon, Gibbons has overhauled their Chinese listings, and numbers vary widely from old catalogues |

First two are national reconstruction savings stamps. Last is a revenue (can't quite make out quite what) for Kweichow/Guizhou Province. |

Quote: Wonder why SG took CC out of their catalogue Only missing from the "stamps of the world" catalogue Steve, almost certainly they will be in the specialised China. |

Wow, Steve, Rod, Tony, what a great thread and ID work all of you have done, and there are some stamps I have even never seen, that is a really good lesson to me. I can not ID this stamp via Scott 2008, maybe it is multiplex overprints? I will check the Ma's Catalog tomorrow: This stamp is a parcel stamp via read the Chinese character in the middle and upper, as Tony has indicated it is used for Kweichow/Guizhou area. Rod has indicated the basic stamp via SG Catalog, here is the information for it from Scott 2008 Catalogue, looks the basic stamp is Scott #5L70 Orange Vermillion perf. 12.5, 14 , Scott #5L70a Red perf.14, looks the basic stamp of Steve's example is Scott #5L70. Will ask and check more information tomorrow and post here. Here is a thread of Philb refer to the China post savings stamps: https://goscf.com/t/5037&whichpage=1 |

Hello Triggersmob and rod222,
Your red $220 Central China stamp is listed as SG CC74 in my 1998 SG Part 17 China catalogue under Hubei, within the "Central and South China" listings. |

Of course it's a parcels stamp. Now it's pointed out, it's so obvious. The first character of 'parcels' isn't completely printed, which completely threw me and sent me off in entirely the wrong direction |

If you guys haven't even seen some of these stamps, it's not surprising I was struggling. Thanks for the info, I look forward to your reply tomorrow, Zhang. I still have a few more to post (not too many), maybe tomorrow. Steve |
