Found these while putting together a topical from an old World album that my sister gave me that we worked on years ago. A couple may be repeats here, but not sure. Here's some from Afghanistan: And Grenada: A couple Dominicans: St. Lucia: This is kind of with the theme...they look like scouts, anyway. Although there's no emblem present: These ones maybe picturing scouts dreaming of a future job? I know, it's a stretch, but I'm including them in my topical: These kids from Hungary look like scouts, right? Or are they mini-sailors? Let me know what you think: And finally, could this be scouting gear? (torn stamp will be replaced) Another decision to be made: Sorry if this is so long, but I love sharing my treasures. Any input about any being included, or not, in a topical is appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to look. Chad |

Chad your torn 40g Polish stamp was actually part of a set issued in 1956 to promote the Polish tourist industry. But who's to say that Scouting can't be a part of tourism? |

Don't have the inclination to go through the pages again, but I'm pretty sure I don't recall these here (now I'm sure to be corrected). Found these while doing some scanning this morning. These may not look like scouting stamps at first glance, but they commemorate the Fifth Boy Scout World Jamboree held in Vogelenzang Netherlands in 1937. The missing 1 1/2c stamp shows the Boy Scout emblem. |

@ jamesw:
I wasn't sure, really, about the last couple countries I posted. I really can't afford the expensive catalogs like most of you here have. As far as searching online, there is such a wealth of information, that sometimes I don't even know where to begin to look for specific items. I guess that's why I like this forum so much. If I'm in doubt of anything, I know someone here will happily and willingly identify what I have or at least point me in the right direction.
Looking at that Poland 40g stamp, I thought for sure it was about Scouting. Now I have some info for a search. Thanks to all of you for letting me into this community and have a Merry Christmas to you and yours. |

chadn - One good place to buy used standard stamp catalogues cheaply may be your local library. Each year libraries have to discard old sets to make space for newly acquired ones, and the reference librarian may be willing to sell you an old set for a very small sum. I once bought a complete set of Scott Catalogues that way for only US$15! - nethryk
