I recently acquired these stamps as part of a lot I purchased. I have been doing some research online and I have not found a lot of information. It sounds like they are used for parcel post, but I am confused by the "Paris to Paris" inscription. Could anybody provide some clarification?

ETA:
A Google Translate effort from another site:

Quote:
The transport of postal parcels within Paris was provided by three successive concessionary services.

- The Compagnie Générale des Trsnports Parisiens par le Materiel des Omnibus, created on October 17, 1878

- The Company of National Messengers. Its first stamp was issued in 1886.

- The Paris Postal Parcel Service for Paris, created on September 1, 1890.

The stamps were divided into three parts:
- on the left: the stub, had to be given to the recipient
- in the middle: the receipt, had to be kept by the sender
- on the right, the stamp, it materialized the postage and possible additional costs

Further additions:
Maury lists these as timbre à taxe réduite pour colis réclame and yours are ##49-51, from 1919. You have a full set of the major numbers. There is also a rose version of #50, catalogued as #50a. (The 3-part reference, above, does not apply to your stamps.)

Thank you for the info. I had not seen either site in my searches. It's interesting that the city had a special parcel post for within the city itself.

This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

I'll be back together with my Yvert in the morning and I'll see if there is anything else of interest to add.
