Hi!
Would love anyones opinion on why this stamp would have 3 imperforate edges?
This is from a recently inherited stamp collection so we have very little knowledge, but want to know if this is from the stamp coming from a coil or from someone cutting the stamp later?
Thanks!

Well, there were no coils then, so it looks like someone cut the edges.

Thank you! Out of curiosity is there any reason why someone would do this? No other stamps in the collection have been altered this way

In some cases, individuals cut stamps and envelope/postal card stamped values to shape (a short lived fad). Perhaps yours was one of those but only got three of the four sides cut. Could just be bad judgment.

No reason other than ignorance?

Early collectors often cut their stamps to fit the box for them in the album page. Sometimes stamps were scissor separated even when perforated.
