Here is a pair I have of the 17 to contribute to the analysis. While the right hand one has a little damage to the upper right edge, off on the left is a sliver of an adjacent stamp. |

Hey All, I posted this elsewhere, but was directed here. Looking for help plating this one. It seemed like it would be fairly ewasy if the images were available for Plate 3. Thoughts? |

That appears to be plate 3. It has the double left frame line and broken right frame line. No guide dot. |

It has been a long time since I posted here. I have had some computer issues and lost all my data. I managed to recover a backup from July 2023, but that means I lost a lot of information that I will try to recover or remake. Luckily, most of it was uploaded to the database. I will have to spend months to recover what I lost. Keep your data backed up friends. I lost all of my data on the 12c issue. But I created it in less than a year so I can redo the work. My 12c images were uploaded to the database for the 1847 10c because I do not have a site to put the on. Those images I can retrieve. I have lost all of my guide dot information on the 12c that is not recoverable and my spacing charts. I may be able to get them from this thread if I did not resize them to put them here. I am not sure if the 12c issue is worth the time to recreate. |

Here is nice, recent item sold By Siegel in March of this year. It is position 52-55, 62-65R1. It is torn across the bottom 4 stamps and repaired. |

I am still trying to replace my images for this plating. I recovered a lot from this forum and the SS database. I remade my right pane guide dot chart and spacing chart (shown here). I am still looking for better images, but I did find one for each row. The notations below the images are from Neinken, not from my observation. Space 1-2 should say "even to slightly lower". space 2-3 should say "even to slightly lower" and space 5-6 should say "higher". |

Here is one that I question Siegel's plating. It is sale #1315 Lot 5096. They plate it as 59-60---69-70R1. It appears to me to be position 69-70---79-80R1. Does anyone plate these that can look at this block? Moyock13, are you still into these? |

Here is an instance where my spacing charts helped me plate a strip of 4. This is Siegel #1234 lot 39. Plate position is unidentified. It is a bottom row stamp with a large margin. Bottom row stamps have no guide dots and that makes them hard to plate. However, the spacing is even - lower - lower. Looking at my charts, the only match is row 7 - 10 on the left pane, therefore it is 97-100L1. Neinken spacing drawings calls 8-9 as even to slightly higher. My chart shows it is definitely lower. Using Neinken's spacing chart, there would be no match at all. Closer inspection of the stamps confirms my plating. |

The SS database I mentioned is the Stamp Smarter database. Stampsmarter.org . Don had passed before I started the 12c so I had to use the database for the 1847 10c for th 1851 issue as well. I tried to get them to duplicate the 1847 issue but they were unable to do so. Here is where I put them... https://stampsmarter.org/features/S..._Plates.html |

I have been plating and sorting images for a month now. Being retired, I have been able to spend a lot of time doing this. I am working on building guide dot charts and a virtual reconstruction of the left and right pane of the plate 1 sheet. I am short one position for the right pane guide dot chart and virtual sheet reconstruction (36R1). I am short two left guide dots for positions 21L1 and 31L1. I just completed the left pane virtual reconstruction shown here at 20% actual size. Each image shows the guide dots except for the two left guide dots listed above. The vertical and horizontal spacings are not correct on the reconstruction except where pairs and blocks were used, but the stamps are correct for the positions. I will post the other sheets when completed. |
