I have a stamp collection I have inherited that includes about 16 volumes of Minkus Supreme Global Stamp Album pages - the volumes are all Minkus covers with volume numbers updated. I'm working through the value of the 100K or s stamps contained therein but I'm wondering if the album pages themselves have any value? I think an orginal complete set was purchased and then as updates were available they were purchased and added. So the pages are from the start of Minkus time though about 1994 or 1993 - different countries seem to end with different years.

Thanks for your help

The golden rule of selling a stamp collection is that the albums do not command a premium.

So, are you asking whether the album pages when stamps have been removed or irrespective of the stamps on them can be sold? That would depend on the state of the pages.

You might want to post a few pictures to show the state of those pages.

Thanks - yes I was referring to just the album pages and binders.

Best to leave the stamps on pages with album. Collection intact.

Indeed. While albums/printed leaves do not, in general, add value, stamps sold on album leaves on ebay seem to attract more interest than those on stock-pages.

Ditto to what others have said. Congrats on the Inheritance. Photos always help. If you post the first couple pages of the US, Great Britain or Canada we may be able to tell if the original volume was a Supreme or not. Eventually all the supplements were pretty much the same across all types, but the first 100 years 1840-1952 or so can vary quite a bit.

Interesting comment. I wonder why? Do you think it gives the impression that the stamps may not have been carefully looked through for varieties and hence some treasure may be found?

Some people like to compare their collection to the pages offered on ebay and they can quickly see if they will be able to fill spaces.

When the stamps are on pages you can judge completeness, on stock pages a whole set can be skipped and it is not apparent.

Presumably some people just substitute your Scott pages for theirs. The real oddity is old albums with lots of fairly ordinary stamps. But on ebay UK, magic words like "Ideal", "Imperial", "Lincoln" etc seem to impair buyers' judgment.
