Hello everyone!

I know, identifying color variations with a screen is, in fact, impossible, but I still have several questions about color varieties of some #18s.

Identifying colors with a screen is a guess, not an identification. But I would still be curious to read your guesses. Guesses can help, even if it's not confirmed.

So, for this one, I'm hesitating a little. Would your guess be more myrtle green tint or a light myrtle green, or, even if I don't think so, maybe a blue green one?

And this one, would your guess be yellow green?

Thanks in advance for any guess,

CS

I'd go with the yellow green for the second. But, I am very far from a color expert.

As for myrtle green tint or light myrtle green.......are you crazy? I didn't even know there was basic myrtle green. much less variations.

Yes, philately makes me being crazy in my learning step!

Yes, there's a light myrtle green, and a deeper one. I find important to make the difference between. Details are part of the philatelic fun!

Thank you for the yellow green confirmation! That's OK if you're not a color expert, I was only curious to see what other people were seeing. For that, people just need to know the color variations of this issue.

I'm probably another in a long list of posters who have mentioned to you that it is impossible to compare colors using computers, due to the many differences in the equipment we all use.
But you still do get an idea of the differences. It is just not consistent enough.

Just try to visualize the printers mixing the ink back in the day, got whale oil lights all over the place, and the head printer askes his assistant " Is this myrtle green or light myrtle green?

Of course, littleriverphil, I completely understand your point of view. As I said in my post, I completely know it's almost impossible to identify a color variety with a screen. But I was curious for some guesses.
