"Dark, mossy green"? There's some purple prose.

SG gives three shades: green; blue-green; and yellow-green. Subject to caveats about screen colours, I'd opt for straight green.

Don't put up a scan of one stamp .it doesn't give true color . Mix in a few colors it gives a better understanding for it's real color .
Here are the stamps from my collection ,none are mossy green . But these are shades differences .

I claim no expertise, but I'll share what I see in a quick look at a couple references.

The Handbook says that dark mossy emerald-green is a Plate 6 shade, and they list Plate 6 as 1920-1924. Your cancel is 1914.

Robson Lowe's Encyclopedia says that there are so many shades that they are impracticable to list, but some, like the 1/2d emerald, are rare.

Now, are they referring to the same Plate 6 stamp? Hard to say. Other choices in the Handbook, in addition to the blue-green and yellow green referenced above, are pale green, grey-green, dark green and deep dull green.

For what it's worth.
