The 1940 issue of the Kenmore katalog of stamps of the British Commonwealth show lavender, pale lavender, blue and greenish blue with the black and carmine color.
My copies of the 1982-83 & 1987-88 Canada specialized produced by Lighthouse, with forwards by WM. H. P. Maresch & A.W. Leggett; show the same as the 1978 issue as lithograving shows in his post. But note the fine print below stating "The true lavender shade is quite rare and most lavender shades, so called, are grey to greyish.
The 1997 the unitrade catalogue states that " there are 4 distinct shades of the map imperfs: lavender, grey, pale blue and deep blue"
In the 1999 unitrade catalogue it states the above but also the next line states about the so- calked muddy waters variety. I wonder if that is in the 1998 catalogue.
The 2005 issue of Darnell stamps of Canada catalogue states that there are only two main color varieties. But it does show images of Green Ocean and Muddy Ocean but notes that they are the results of natural oxidisation. As below.
