I'm building my French airmail stamp collection up to the 60s and interested to know more about the history regarding the design decisions behind the stamps.
Are there materials about the subject available online?
One apparently needs to set up a free account to log in to "borrow" or view it.
As an example of what you might find in this volume, take a look at some of the thread concerning the two 50 franc airmails issued in 1936: https://goscf.com/t/83834
Le Patrimoine du Timbre-Poste Français seems to be a comprehensive source. Unfortunately, the link leads to Vol 2, which is the index. I'll keep looking.
Don't rush into it - I found mine at a low price. Only question is how many are floating around in North America, as the postage from France would be nasty.
