Welcome.
A few hints: pictures tell more than words. A scan (or if not possible, a photo) of the stamp helps identify it.
A lot of collectors of British Commonwealth use the Stanley Gibbons catalogue that is much better for such areas than Scott. They will not know what A18 is.
From other posts, I think the A-numbers tend to refer to pictures and not stamp listings. Where multiple watermarks may have been used, this would not identify the stamp.
New Zealand did not have cents before 1967. The low "A18" number suggests a much earlier stamp. That would have been denominated in pennies. I see a 1/2d green in 1907 that comes in perf. 14 and perf 14 x 15. Unfortunately, I cannot say whether we are talking about the same stamp.

Again, the scan (or picture) would allow a much wider audience to help you. But a description (year, (colour,) what the stamp looks like), also would help.
