Wow, that is an amazing response, and for only half a stamp. Gotta say though, the crown on the watermark doesn't look like either of those two. Closer to T25, but not.
I'll try to get a shot of it tomorrow and post.

Here are some shots of the watermark on the telegraph stamp I posted the other day. As mentioned above, the crown does not resemble the two watermark crowns shown. There is what I will call 'scalloping' on the outside curves (I've tried to hi-lite them).
So don't know if there's another watermark listed that this may fall under.

retouched image to hopefully show scallops better

So let me thank Joy Daschaudhuri for the amazing information that has been posted here. I'm sure other students of Indian philately will benefit from the knowledge imparted.

...And about that post last year? Sorry dude, didn't see it. Lost track of the post, got side tracked by life, I don't know. It wasn't personal, don't beat your head against a wall.
All I can say is, they're just pieces of paper. Your knowledge is an asset to this forum, and we are all the better philatelists for what you give us. But sometimes, ya gotta just let it go.

James,
It is a Type 19, as Joy presented.
You can tell by the slopes of the block under the Crown.

Watermarks, as you know, are just wire mesh devices pressed into wet/damp paper, (Dandy Roll) depending on how that particular piece was wearing or made, can influence the sometimes odd looking Wmks.

Sometimes they even fall off the Dandy roll.

It is no doubt Br. India 1882 8A Vic. brown telegraph stamp (SG T35) with watermark SG type T25.

The previous images of watermark types posted by me were from SG illustrations which I must say, are quite smoothened-edged drawing, especially of the the crown.

The actual watermarks of both T19 and T25 have some sort of corrugated edges in the crown design.

Here are more realistic illustrations of the watermark types.

SG type T19 Watermark of Br. India Telegraph Stamps

SG type T25 Watermark of Br. India Telegraph Stamps

The easiest way to differentiate T19 from T25 is that the former has 3 bands at the base of the crown whereas the latter has 2 and here the watermark shown thus is SG type T25.

Thanks Joy and Rod. You are right, the new illustration is a better representation of the watermark on my stamp.
I agree Joy, Type T25. Well done.
