Interestingly, according to the Siegel (Stamp Auction) Census, there are the following number of unused copies known:

Canada Scott # 1: 22 stamps (8 mint singles without gum, 2 mint blocks without gum, 4 mint singles with original gum, 1 mint pair with original gum) https://siegelauctions.com/resource...CensusID=295

Canada Scott # 2: 13 stamps (9 mint singles without gum, 2 mint singles with original gum, 1 mint pair with original gum) https://siegelauctions.com/resource...CensusID=296

Canada Scott # 3: 34 stamps (9 mint singles without gum, 17 mint singles with original gum, 4 mint pairs with orignal gum) https://siegelauctions.com/resource...?CensusID=17

Interesting how Scott # 3 is the most expensive one unused, even though there are more known unused copies of it than each of the other two.

Also, the quantity of unused of both Scott # 1 (22 stamps) and # 2 (13 stamps) at 35 stamps is almost the same as Scott # 3 at 34 stamps.

That is interesting… my first thought is that maybe it's because it is more likely that the 12d is recorded and sold by large auction houses whereas the other two might change hands more privately? Not that $5,000-35,000 is a small private amount by any means but certainly not the 12d ballpark. I would have assumed there are more #1 and #2 unused copies than 12d copies out there but I actually have no idea… maybe not?

On the other hand, there are many more used Scott # 1 stamps and more used Scott # 2 stamps than used Scott # 3 stamps (49 stamps: 40 singles, 2 pairs, 5 singles on cover). https://siegelauctions.com/resource...?CensusID=17
