UNESCO World Heritage Sites feature cave and rock art, Mozambique, 2010.

- Altamira Cave Paintings, Spain

- Tadrart Acacus mountains, Libya
- Valle Vezere, includingg Lascaux Cave, France
- Kakadu National Park, Australia






This set is the last one in my collection of prehistoric art which is part of my origin of man stamp collection. I will update this thread when I add new items. Please, feel free to share your stamps and items.

Here is the SS issued together with the above Mozambique set. The stamp features painting from Altamira cave, Spain. In the background: Cave of the Hands, Argentina. Tadrart Acacus Mountains, Libya. Rock carvings of Tanum, Sweden.

Cave and stone paintings (on each stamp background), Guinea Bissau, 2009.

- Stone painting from the Cedarberg Mountains, South Africa, about 200 km north of Cape Town.
- A bison from Altamira, Spain.
- "Cueva de los Caballos", Valltorta, Castellón, Spain.
- A deer from Cosquer Cave next to two aurochs from Lascaux, France.
- Lascaux (the Great Rotunda).

The above Tanzania set was issued in a sheet. Note the background shows the Bison from Altamira.

Two SS's were issued together with the set.
