I have found that ISWSC site really useful for a few different puzzlers. |

Hi, Been searching for a long time. Doe's anybody know what cancel, Surcharge or overprint this is. The stamp is Unificato It 547, Michael It 686, Sassone it547ns. I found it in Israel and believe the two are mint but there is no record I could find about the "feather in a Hat" overprint. I was told It's a top secret spy stamp but that's probably just nonsense. You would think, if it was a top secret spy stamp, they would use a plain issue. Broadcasting would be counter productive. (Unless of course it was a gift from "99")

Yeah I agree....I don't think the government would use the postal service for very sensitive information. I'm thinking Trieste, Patriot's Secret Surcharge.....but still no record and not very confident. Can it really be 1 in a million? |

The Bersaglieri (Marksmen in English) are the Italian corps recognized by the distinctive wide brimmed hat that they wear (only in dress uniform in modern times), decorated with black capercaillie feathers.
I have not seen this overprint before but it would be interesting to find out more about it. |

FYI, I just requested that the admins move this to a different forum other than U.S. Classics. Thanks, Ray |

Acronyms CP=? Tripoli Opt Sc#3 1909 $3 / $4 2009 Opinion: Looks like comb, colour registration looks normal for these issues |
