Thanks SV, nobody beat you! I think tomorrow I will go up to the library and borrow the Scott volume that has China. There are quite a few more stamps of the era, and they seem to have much more value than I thought.

WAIT A MINUTE!

I just saw the "White Hair Girl" issue on ebay, with a bid of $79.99 ! Has it gone up in value that much since 2009?

Yes, you will find many PRC stamps from the mid-60's to the mid-70's have a very solid premium. These are historically solid premiums, not speculation-induced -- although the speculation has contributed to some of the price increases of these Cultural Revolution Era stamps.

I don't know about firing a rifle with gloves on, but I do warn against trying it while wearing glasses.

Back in (if memory serves) 1961, I was dragooned into my school Army Cadet Corps, and was shipped off one day to an Army camp to be made a man of. Part of the process involved learning to shoot ancient .303 rifles. The first shot caused one of the legs of my glasses to detach itself, and my next four shots were fired as near as dammit to blind.

The next day, with my glasses still hors de combat, I was sent to practice stripping, reassembling and firing a Bren gun at a hill side ...

The .303s they issued us with would have seen service in the First World War.

Horrible, heavy things they were. If that was a Lee Enfield the White Haired Girl is gaily waving around, she must have had arms like an Olympic weight-lifter

My father had one during WWII too - he was in the Australian Army. He took it badly amiss when I didn't fall in love with the wretched thing they gave me to play with.

mine Enfield had a 10 shot magazine.. weighed a ton, had a heck of a kick too.
I used it for deer hunting and target shooting... I remember I used 180 grain Silver Tips...
firing 20 rounds at a range would make my shoulder sore.

BeeSee: Sorry that I can not add the picture.

The first stamp is issued on 1970-11-1, the price in China is 25RMB, and the other five stamps are issued on 1969-10-01. The price in China is 560RMB.

Any questions about the China stamps, pls don't hesitate to ask me.
