khj, I hope this has rescued a few stamps for your collection

I don't collect Japan, so it's no good asking me to identify 'em, but I do translate the language. If anyone has any, hopefully short and clearly written, Japanese they need help with, I'll be happy to do what I can.

Actually, I don't collect revenues (sorry Revstampman), so if it isn't in the Scott catalog, it won't affect me. My early Japan is still in assorted albums/pages/glassines, as they are too tedious to sort.

But seriously, thanks for the correction. I learn a lot when I'm wrong!

Personally, I don't see any "wrong" comitted
The Forum is performing as it should,
most of what we print here is hearsay
and it is healthy to see it gets corroborated
or corrected when necessary, without any feeling of injuy.

Even the Big Wigs get it awry sometimes,
the author of "Postage Stamps in the making" I just note,
called the Pineapple and the Conch on the 1d Bahamas, as the...

Cacti and the Conch :)

The most important thing is that we all contribute
without fear of creating a clanger, when invariably we all
do from time to time.

Quite right, Rod. The other day, in Another Place, I committed the far worse clanger of identifying a dud (Shahpura) stamp as genuine. More proof, if it were needed, of the wisdom in multitudes of counsellors.
