I picked this up on ebay a few years ago for a few cents. It fits nicely into my QV ephemera collection, but I know nothing about it. Has anyone seen others?

Obviously a cinderella.

If one thinks about this, the year 1940 was to commemorate 100 years of the first postage stamp. However, 1940 was not good for the Allies since the Germans, at the time, were winning the war and London plus other British cities and sites were suffering under the 'blitz'. Having a moderate understanding of the 3rd Reich tells me that it would not be surprising at all if these were produced in Germany at the time - - don't quote me please.

These could be a cinderella stating that Hitler would reign supreme in the end - - but we all know how that ended.

Just a wild guess on my part.

The paper looks too white for mine.
I would guess a modern concoction,
from someone with too much time on his/her hands.

Never saw amything remotely like it. But like rod said, it looks very modern, so I would rule out propaganda means. Most likely a recent fabrication.

I didn't even notice the perfs until you pointed them out. It looks like a modern self-adhesive.

I agree with all comments. It's on very white paper and gummed. Definitely modern.

There was a seller on ebay for a long time who had all kinds of reprints and flat out fantasy issues, including stuff like this. I recall an Alpenvorland Adria reprinted set, and a KGVI swastika overprint "from" one of the Channel Islands. Some of it was based on real stuff, and some was pure speculation, if I recall correctly. Don't see him now, in a quick search. The common denominator was clean, white gummed paper.
