Thank you!

'OS' on Australia King George 5 (KGV) side-face stamps means Official Service.

This would be similar to O.H.M.S. perforated initials (perfins) on Canada stamps. (On His Majesty's Service).

Used for stamps being used for government service only.
I am not sure if there are different variations of these perfins. For Canada I am just learning there are many variations plus fakes made also.

KGV_Collector's thread on these stamps is the best explanation of these I know of.

Lots of other threads that make mention of these stamps. Search for Australia in subject only

This stamp was never printed on the rough paper. The 1½d wasn't printed in red until 1924; the 1d red on rough paper appeared during WWI, in 1916.

However, there is an inverted watermark recorded for this stamp - £20 used in the current Gibbons.

I only see a mention of 77a, very thin paper...

I don't see a note above or below the listing that would say otherwise regarding rough paper...

[edit: I'm guessing the note I would be looking for would be similar to the note for the 1.5d green printed in 1923 on rough paper (SG#61a).]
