I know many on SCF are familiar with Buck-a-Cover, but for those who haven't linked to the site lately, I just found that there is a special "housecleaning sale" going on where Special Event Covers of the 30's and 40's are going for only 40 cents apiece ... and first day covers of stamps and postal stationery items from the 60's and 70's are 50 cents apiece.

Some may find it worth checking out. Many of those Special Event covers have nice handstamped cachets, and a few have cinderella stamps attached, too.

You are lucky that I will not be buying any, otherwise you will get me in trouble with my wife also.(Anyway I only just bought a parcel of 50 FDC of USA origin )
She is already at the stage where she says, not more stamps, but then she encourages me by going to thrift shops and buying their packets of stamps for me..

Hi to all

Correct me if I am wrong, I once read in a British Stamp Magazine that there is actually a society in the USA that is for person who collect FDC's but I would assume that it would be the odd, rare and interesting covers rather than the run of the mill

I believe you are referring to the American First Day Cover Society. Here's their link:
