Based on the looks I'd say they are reprints and not the original ones which are quite scarce. A better scan / picture would help confirm this so if you could scan each one individually @ 1200 dpi and then upload the images from a hosting site to the thread it would help. |

I have seen cancelled "reprints" sell for $10. Just saw a sheet of unused PF certified "genuine reprints" with a $5,000 best offer pricing. What is the story about "genuine" reprints? |

Unfortunately stamps of that kind are worth nothing without a certificate of authenticity. With a valid certificate you might get some reasonable best guesses. Happy Holidays. |

Those are huge margins. If those are authentic I would think the margins would be a premium. I'm not at home so have no access to my catalogs. Sorry. |

My first thought was the margins were way too big - take a look at the sheet on the cover of the Siegel auction catalog in 51studebakers link
Who told you they were real? |

I'm quite sure if they've already been "Authenticated" then you'd have a clear direction on their value and what to do with them. As mentioned by Kevin above, if you can provide a scan of the certification then a monetary figure can be ball parked. From what I understand the sure way to tell the reprints from the real McCoy is that the reprints are on "Whiter" paper and the paper is very thin, yours fall into both categories. Quote: just forget it idc if you guys believe that they are real or not they have been looked at and are real I was just looking for a value but all you guys are worried about is saying there not real you guys arnt experts we had an expert look at them but he didnt give us a value just said their pricless of you cant help me with the one question I asked will a real answer then dont comment You're the one that came in here asking questions, so if the truth hurts then don't ask questions. If a so called expert told you they were real then why are you here asking their value ? Any legitimate expert can easily apply a Dollar figure to an authentic Stamp if they are in expert in that field. Also, you have no clue on who is telling you they're reprints and a couple of people that have answered here I'll put up against your "Expert" any day. I'm calling BS on this one. Also looking at the Siegel sales a block of 4 sold for less than $1000.00 so I hardly think even if real they're candidates for the National Postal Museum. |

LOL wow... Candace, let me help you seeing as you feel the need to bullrush fellow community members. By viewing the certificate and the notes on that certificate, we can better ascertain the condition of your stamps and grading. Without that, we can't give you an educated number. So back off and don't come looking for free opinions if you can't be assed enough to answer some fairly basic questions and provide a decent scan.

candace,
I hope you didn't pay the expertiser for his work, it would be throwing good money after bad.
These are easily recognised a forgeries even with such a poor scan,
If you want to donate them, I suggest the American Philatelic Society for their forgery collection,

First off, even if real they are not that expensive and can be found on ebay for anywhere from $50 - $500 so stating they're priceless is just wrong. You have no idea how many times we've heard the old "I can't get another picture because they're in a safe deposit box" here. Instead of another picture how about showing us the certificate ? Without that, they have no value. I'd say the left Stamp with the Black "2" is a crude fake. |
