I came across these two stamps. I can't find them. They are transparent as you can see the background color shows through. They are on very thin Sepia type paper.

Try the Scott's U.S. Specialized catalog. They are Essays - the 1867 Essays from Henry Lowenberg, Scott 79-E8

tazzmann30....some nice items there. They are very fragile.
The printing is done on the reverse side but looks normal from the front. Printed in about 20-25 colors....undervalued by Scott

I don't think the Scott value listing is going to change any time soon. As essays go, these are quite common, and the demand is not very high. However, when an example is well centered, complete and without damage, and its color and paper are fresh, then it really is a premium item and worth more than the Scott value. Depending on color sometimes the difference can be considerable, by factors of 5 or 10. Some colors are less common than others, and that is also a factor in pricing, though the distinction is not yet tabulated by Scott.

One of the reasons Scott cannot keep up with these is that when they sell at auction, they are usually sold in mixed bunches of colors, types and quantities. That jumble has something to do with the auction houses having minimum lot values, and so these little guys kind of get lost in the shuffle.

In view of the prominent damage your two are not worth much, maybe 5-7 bucks each if you can find a buyer. But they are nice curiosities to have in your collection, so you might consider just keeping them with your 1867s.
