Not for sure if that is the heavy curved line I see or not below the star and I'm not for sure how heavy it is suppose to be. Also I can not tell if there is a added line above the ornaments. Could some of you more knowledge than I give a helping hand. Do you think it is dark green or just green? I don't see any grill but also don't suspect it's the Special printing.Thanks for you time and help.
Newby.

Newby, that is a nice stamp! Try to check your stamp with http://Stampsmarter.com ! That is a fantastic site for these stamps! By the way, the numbers you use ( A27 and A27a ) are NOT catalog numbers! They are only the numbers that refer to the design of the stamps.

area-- A27 refers to Scott's notation for the stamps design.

Newby-- Assuming the stamps has no grill...you will have to see if it is thin paper or not. Hold it in your tongs and flick the stamp. Do the same to some others and compare. You will be able to see a difference.

Thin paper= Scott No. Scott No. 62B
otherwise= Scott No. 68

Thanks petert4522 for chiming in with your reply and thinking it's a nice stamp. Yeah I know it's the style number and not the stamp number. I guess I should of said 62b or 68.I did look there and also blew up the Scotts page but I can't tell if the curve line is heavy or not still and also the line above the ornaments where the perfs are.

IBFS I'm a hesitant doing the flick text being new and don't want to bend/crease the stamp. Can you hold it up to a light source instead? Is the sound a thud sound or a crisp spy d doing the flick text. Thanks for you help IBFS.

It isn't the sound...It's more like how hard or how easy it is.

Go ahead and try it. There are just some times when we close our eyes, jump, and hope there's water in the pool.

I disagree that paper thickness can be used to ID a 62B. There are plenty of 68's out there on a thin or thinner paper than other 68's.

Then it is all about the heavy lines and the line added at top to distinguish the difference sinclair2010?

Yes but there are other more subtle differences too.
