Hey guys,
I acquired this stamp advertised as a Scott 85 D Grill. It appears to have the correct number of points and pointing down. What do you all think based on the pic?

Thanks,
Jon

I'm going to take it to a local shop. Just thought I'd post and see if anyone could give input. Thanks. I'll just take it to the shop and see what he says.

I have no input about the stamp, sorry. But be patient, you posted this less than an hour ago. It's Saturday night. The board is less active now.

Obverse is too fuzzy to be of use. My count of the reverse is pretty consistently 15x18, but at least part of the column on the right (in the pic) looks like a column of half points. That is not entirely clear. But there is enough reason to think that it could be a "D" grill to have a local expert take a look. If we could get sharper images we might be able to give a more solid response. But it looks like a candidate.

The image is pretty blurry. I'm waiting for the stamp to arrive. I'll post a clearer pic when it comes in. I'm definitely taking it to my local stamp expert. Thanks for the help!

Count the columns. D Grill must have exactly 15 columns.
Just by looking at the front, one fact also in your favor is that it is the dull rose shade, and all of the "experimental" grills (A,B,C,D,Z) are only found in the dull rose shade.

Good luck...there are definitely D grills out there to be found...I've found 3 of them on ebay, including one unused in the past couple of years (all ID'd as E grills, BTW).....

Ray
