If you have a Scott Specialized Catalogue, look under the "Encased Postage Stamps" section for the history. Yours is Scott #EP158. If you don't have the catalogue, you can Google "Encased Postage Stamps" and get information about them. Value depends upon condition. You did not post a scan of the front. The Mica being intact is important to value. Catalogue value for a very-fine example, intact Mica and not heavily worn or damaged, is about $800.00 (my 2014 catalogue).

Remember we have not seen if the mica is still intact for any real value. I would shop around showing the item to several coin or stamp dealers at a major show. Make sure to research the value further first.

Sending this in to the PF for a cert would probably be a good idea. There are many potential problems with encased postage, including replaced stamps, replaced mica, and outright counterfeits.

Early American auctions would be a good place to start.

Example above is a bit off-centered and appears to have a slight hazing of the mica over the "e" of cents which will detract a bit from the value.
