Hi David, depending on where in Burlington you will be, you will only be about 15 minutes away. Do you know the area at all? I'm just on the Beach Strip across the lift bridge from Burlington. If you are going to be here long enough and would like to, maybe we could meet for coffee or something. I don't think there will be any club meetings that close to Christmas. Which is too bad. The last Hamilton meeting before the new year will be the second Monday in Dec. That's the 21st, so I am not even sure if they will have a meeting that close to Christmas. |

Sounds good... I'll touch base with you closer to the event. My sister still lives in Burlington (you met her with a couple of the nephews a few years ago). Coffee and Hot chocolate at Tim Horton's is always good!

Congratulations David. I bought something from Ian Kimmerley just the other day! Through Stampwants. A block of Victorian stamps (Aust State). And he hasn't left me feedback! Hehe, tell him to get his act together. The stamps were excellent. Balf |

Congratulations David. I've always wanted to work in a stamp shop but I doubt it will ever happen. Say, if you ever come across rejects that the boss tells you to pitch, send em my way. |

Good for you, David!
The closest I came to that was back in the early '90s when I was a part owner of a Sports Cards store. It was an eye-opening experience, and I learned a lot from it. The major problem was having to look at the inventory as "stock" when some of it could have enhanced my own collection (and some did; on paydays, part of what I made consisted of cards, which was helpful to the store because it eliminated the possibility of cashflow problems). The downside was learning that a lot of little kids were thieves and had no end of diversionary tactics in their attempts to steal from the store. The biggest lesson I learned, though, was that if you are going to get involved in a partnership, know your partners. |
