Here is a stamp which is puzzling, it is from Germany (marks) and overprinted with Belgium (Francs) and yet the cost price is in cents!

This is German occupation of Belgium during Word War I.
As for currency, 1 Belgian Franc was divided to 100 Cents.

thanks scb, thought it was in centimes? ok cents, nice to know a ww1 stamp with overprint fell into my lap. Are stamps of Germany/Belgium WW1 relatively common??

Centimes is correct as well as "cents" are called centiem (Dutch), centimes (French) or Centime (German).

Belgian occupation stamps are not "common", but they're not extremely rare or difficult either (especially if compared to rest of German occupation overprints). In good condition this specific stamps would have a catalog value of few euro's , but a missing corner makes it a spacefiller.
