edit: you know I write software for a living and I am so used to typing "form" I always misspell "From"

these stamps had scotch tape and masking tape attaching them to the album..

with a combination of lighter fluid, peroxide, and nail polish remover (neutral color) they came out looking like these.

Color wise they look pretty good - I would have thought they would have faded more after exposure to such chemicals. You should try posting some before and after photos. Also you might consider a method I use when trying out new soaking methods. To test for color fade I will find a damaged stamp and then cut it in half. I keep one half as a control sample and subject the other to the chemical bath and afterwards I compare the two to check for fade, etc. Keep in mind that color fade might not appear until days, weeks, or months later. You can still find darkroom supplies from BH Photo (http://www.bhphotovideo.com) or Adorama Photo (http://www.adorama.com) which are both highly reputable and well established stores based out of Manhattan.

Nice job. I've seen what old scotch tape turns into on a few "repaired" stamps. So far, I've just been leaving it on and using them as space fillers until I can find something better. The most effective bleaching/cleaning agent I have found is ammonia + peroxide. Use only a teensy bit of ammonia and test it out on a few stamps you don't care about... and try not to breathe it. It will also tend to neutralize the acid in the stamp paper. YMMV Caveat emptor, etc. I recommend full disclosure if you sell them.
