I think I did pretty well, we sorted over a thousand stamps tonight from a WW mix and I ended up with only 10 that I couldn't remember the countries for. I know I've seen a few of them before but just blanking.

fire away if you recognize them so I can stuff them in the correct envelopes.

I recently asked some questions on some issues involving the last two stamps in your post. Here's the link. I found it quite interesting:

Not Cuba, but Spain. Yes, it is similar design showing King Alfonso XIII.

Yes, a mistake there Edwin (thanks khj)

The stamp in question is a "key type stamp"
and known as the "Baby key type"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_plate_stamp

I see Cuba has "isle de cuba" on top of the key type
(see how we all learn through questions and answers )

"Julia" engraved in the neck is the mark of the engraver

My books are packed away, otherwise I could tell you
what countries are covered by the "Baby key type"

Key plate type = bi coloured stamps

It's easy to miss, Rod. Especially with the torn upper left corner.

In addition to Spain, the only ones I can think of were issued by Cuba, Fernando Po, Philippines, and Puerto Rico.

Edwin, the stamp Rodney has identified as Morocco will be found in your Scott catalogues & albums under French Morocco. Morocco listings don't begin in Scott until the Kingdom issues. Your stamp is from a time period very close to the changeover - it belongs to the last definitive set found in the French Morocco listings.

Your Russian stamp illustrates one of the hangups I have with the Cyrillic alphabet. The lower case "T" isn't a "t", it's an "m". Whatever.

Ryan
