I live in Charlotte North Carolina. I have been in every state except North and South Dakota. Still time in my old age to go there - but the question would be ... what would be the incentive? |

Maiden I am in Hawarden, Flintshire, North Wales. However in the past I have made many a journey to your city of Bristol, to the Airbus factory down there, due to my work in the Broughton Airbus factory. Hence one of my side-collections, Airbus-related stamps and covers. DavidR |

ncbuckeye: I can't speak for North Dakota, but as for South Dakota: Badlands, Wall Drug, Corn Palace, Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments to name a few reasons to visit. |

Ahhh - lots to see in SDAK! That would make 49 states I would have been in which then creates the incentive to drive north to make it all 50 states! Thanks for the info! If I planned the trip just right, I could stop and stay with an SCF member every night! |

Hi Ray,
It is a small world. I have lived in the area all my life, but grew up in Garden City, MI. Moved to Redford only 12 years ago. |

I just remembered a beautiful trip to Medore ND. Teddy Roosevelt National Park is breath-taking. |

Ray.Mac: being a train buff I have done the Polar Bear Express. Also recommend the Agawa Canyon train trip from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Nice day's outing. |

I live in Carmel, California. It's really hard to find anyone who collects anything but money around here. So, I would be really happy to meet with other members from SCF to chit chat. |

I live in Barcelona, Catalonia, SW Europe. Unlucky enough to be too far away most of our SCF fellows, but with a lot of stamp collectors and societies around. They aren't here as most of them don't speak English, which is a shame, as there's a wealth of stamp knowledge to share. |

I have not been on the Polar Bear Express but know friends who have and the trip to Agawa is also great too from what I hear.
I have been to North Bay on different occasions and I enjpy it there a lot too. There is a floating restaurant there on the steamer "Chief Commanda I". In fact, my wife and I were in NB last year for the international show sponsored by the BNAPS. We had a good time there too. North Bay is exactly 100 miles (175 KM) due North of me and the drive was only an hour and a half. All I have to do is drive only a little over half a mile to Hwy #11 and head straight up.
It has been a while since I was in Cochrane and Hearst etc. Great country up there to say the least.

The answer to S Dakota has been answered. As for North Dakota? I have family in Williston, ND, and speaking from experience, there's nothing to see in Northern ND. I still don't understand why my brother lives there, but to each his own. I don't know about the rest of the state ... |

Hi everybody I didn't realize how far spread this discussion group is. I am in Etobicoke (the west end of Toronto), Ontario. We are fortunate to have a number of stamp events (mainly dealer events) every year along with a number of individual club shows. As webmaster for the Greater Toronto Area Philatelic Alliance, I invite everyone to visit www.gtapa.org to see our calendar of events. If the group would like to meet in conjunction with a scheduled event, I would be delighted to arrange to host the meeting at the show or to arrange an off-site venue for a gathering. GJP |

I am in Ottawa, Ontario - the capital city of Canada. I've met several SCF members at our local show (which is a National-level, WSP show) ORAPEX www.orapex.ca I have traded, sold and bought from others around the world through this forum - only got burned once and it hasn't affected my opinion of this community. Peter (below is a list of my main philatelic activities) Vice President, Study Groups - British North America Philatelic Society member, Postal History Society of Canada member, Royal Philatelic Society of Canada advertising manager, Vatican Philatelic Society member, American Association of Philatlic Exhibitors member, Ottawa Philatelic Society |

Warrehouse and I work in the same building. I had the pleasure of running into him this morning on my way to work. I know there is a member of my stamp club who is on SCF (our Vice President no less), but I do not know his nickname in SCF. |
