I am searching for the old style #1 glassine envelopes with the "V" flap. It appears WESTVACO (and other manufacturers) have new die cutting machines that make a thin flap on the back of the envelope.

Many butterfly collectors like to use the #1 envelopes in the field for storing small butterflies, and the "V" flap makes it easy to hold open. The new style flap does not work well in the field.

If anyone knows where I can get any of the old style envelopes, I would probably want to buy 1,000 to 3,000, or maybe more, I'd appreciate the information.

I've attached a photo of the style I'm looking for.

That's what I bought from Subway as recently as a year ago. I have never seen a "thin" flap.

I think this is what is being referenced. I don't like this style for stamps either, and I make sure I get the V-style back flap when buying glassines.

Oh, I see. Agree 100%, I wouldn't have the "thin" flaps as shown above as a gift.
