Chalk this one up to today's offbeat news of a postal variety:

Quote:
Switzerland's postal service has admitted it accidentally sent mail to people who recently died welcoming them to their new homes and wishing them well settling in.

It seems funny at first glance, but I'm sure it was very distressing to those bereaved family members requesting the mail of their deceased relatives be forwarded to them.

The USPS used to have a Dead Letter Office. Not any more I suppose?

I've crossed Switzerland off my list of places to visit.

I thought it was you that tried to make it from France to Switzerland with 1 million Euros in the trunk of his car. Oh I recall it was a guy from Montreal. He got caught by costum at the frontier. Apparently he had rendez-vous in a big banking institution. I'm not thinking of you. This is a true story of a crooked businessman in Montreal. They did finaly nailed him. Myself I don't mind visiting Switzerland. Nice stamps too. More dreams than my personnal finance can satisfy. Daniel

Hi timbres667,

You have reminded me of a novel I read way back, "Nightwork" by Irwin Shaw. One of the best 'suitcase full of money' stories ever, and one of my favourites. A tale of morality and what lengths a decent person will go to in bettering themselves financially and socially. Off topic, I know, but a terrific read with a wonderful twist at the end.
