Wert,
As you know, I quite enjoy your contributions and you add so much to the community. I do like and am impressed by your pages.
Still, I would go a different direction (only because I am much lazier and not as creative as you): I just buy the Lighthouse pages, which are pre-printed and have all the provinces and spaces for all the stamps. I go high end and get the hingeless little pockets which have the archival plastic sleeve, front and back--so the stamp is easily visible and sort of floats safely. I think its like $60-$80 and you are done. the pages go in any sort of album--i've got two sets : one for all my mint stamps and one for all my used stamps. the best of each.
just the way I would go |

tommy...I agree whole heatedly with what you are saying..I am going to do just what you said and place see through hinge less mounts cut to the size of the stamp(s) I want to display. Quote: However, I agree that there is something very satisfying in creating one's own album pages. sak...you hit the nail right on the head..personal pride and satisfaction that you did your own thing. Quote: Fantastic Wert! or as we say, here in Canada, 'Beauty, eh?' jamesw...Thanks buddy... Is it too much to add the printer to the bottom of the page..I do value your suggestions guys.. |

Here is what I will produce..As you open the small binder, the left page will have the stamp and the right page will have all pertinant information about the printer, designer, etc. |

Probably just the way they are holding the page. If you want to use a heavier stock, I use Recollections 65lb. Card Stock for my covers album pages. Only because it is a little heavier, but holds larger pieces (envelopes, post cards) much better than regular stock. It is acid and lignin free as well, so won't yellow or harm your stamps. Available at Michaels art supply stores, usually in the scrap booking section. |

jamesw...Are you talking about store bought sheets with their own pockets...The only trouble I have with them is say there is room for 10 stamps and I only have 3, it bugs me that the others are empty..That is why I would make up a sheet with say just 3 spots, it would make me feel better looking at it. Quote: The pages do look great, wert. Thanks KirkS..Appreciate the encouragement. |

wert, this is just plain white sheets that will go through your home printer, so you can add your design. You could use mounts (as you seem to be in your image) or, for my cover albums I use clear photo corners.
Personally, sometimes I don't mind white space. Maybe you could add information about the stamp. Or if a stamp is alone, you could double it up with the previous or following year. I just find it an economical way to create my own pages. |

Nice.
Since you asked, I'd strive for an even black border around the stamp...or clear mounts to avoid the uneven border. (The human eye is able to detect minute differences or angles.) |

Also, for what it is worth, I do the stamps on the right side and the writeup on the left. It seems to flow to flip the page and see the stamp(s) on the right side.
My 2d. |
