Hi guys, I have a question regarding which glue to use when making a collage with stamps. I often have stamps where the glue has coloured or dyed the stamp ruining the stamp image, and would like to know if anyone has experience with this?
Poly vinyl acetate, aka PVA. You can get an archival mix.
It will destroy the stamps, but glues paper flat and won't discolor.
or
Rabbit-skin glue is a sizing that also acts as an adhesive. It is essentially refined rabbit collagen, and was originally used as an ingredient in traditional gesso. This is not as easy to use, but is water soluble.

There is no need, or reason to be pedantic. If one goes to this site, they'll find the article "Postage Stamp Collage Art" by Russ Hahn which appeared in the December 2012 American Philatelist. The article depicts both stamp collage and stamp decoupage pieces.

This is awesome and EXACTLY what I was looking for.
I do not have a nice picture, but we saw an exhibit with a box filled with over a thousand paper cranes each made from a stamp. Using damaged stamps can lead to stunning art.
