area66 so did I having been out of town - great contributions but I still need a course on Vario....Blaamand will contribute it to me (maybe !) as I use my own bought software to make my Album pages - name of software withheld since the Forum Gurus do not like any name mentioned that would be "publicity" ! |

Quote: ...do not like any name mentioned that would be "publicity"... Hi Renden, Please understand it is not a matter of 'like', it is a question of 'rules'. Our community is not here to serve as a free platform for commercial sites to use without 'giving back'. If a company makes contributions in one fashion or another, including meeting the 50 post minimum of helpful, quality posts; then there is no issue with mentioning them. We have a number of commercial sites who play by the rules. In fact we all play by these rules. Ask yourself, if you owned a commercial site why would you resist trying to help this community in one way of the other? Does it not make sense to 'give back' and in return get the good will and potential upside this community represents? Or would you try to get goodwill and upside without helping the community at all? Those commercial sites who broke this simple concept are disallowed. Don |

I feel so... well... dull after reading all this.
For me, Vario pages simply provide hinge-less, snazzy display of most of my stamps. No special images or labels added. They just go in according to country/topic/era/etc and by size. And it is a PAIN when you run out of space and need to shift everything onto new ones!
But I have never had any issued with the pages. I'd say about 98% of the stamps do not shift (as long as they are not too large for the pockets).
Only customization I have are computer printed tabs to try and keep things separated. |

Nells250 - Nothing is dull in stamp collecting! Your way is as good as anyones. Quote: And it is a PAIN when you run out of space and need to shift everything onto new ones Well, yes it is always a pain if you need to re-arrange - but Vario pages is the easiest of any storage option in that circumstance! Simply add one page in between the others - and distribute the stamps from the page before and after onto that new sheet - done! That''s impossible in a stockalbum - it's impossible or at least very awkward on DYI pre-printed pages - and will require re-hinging or re-mounting on album pages. On a Vario page it is therefore actually the least of a pain of any opther storage solution - that's my main argument for starting to use the Vario pages in the first place. |

These are pages from my Dahomey Album for the 1913-1922 Man Climbing Palm Definitives. First page has spaces for the Regular Paper set and shade varieties thereof, Second Page has spaces for the Chalky Paper versions and shade varieties thereof, as well as shade and other varieties to the issues 1914 Postage Dues and of definitives of 1915, 1917 and 1922. OCD...hmmm maybe |

I had originally tried to use Varios to keep my US mini-sheets but a number of them are just to tight. The mint sheet albums work better since two sides are open but due to their characteristics (static cling?) they hold them well. I want to look at the Vario Grande (9˝x12) or Maximum (13x13) size pages. |

Angore - I'm using the Vario Grande - and those extra centimeters in either direction makes a significant difference. Only backside I can see with the Grande pages is that they are a little bit too large for scanning on a normal lettersheet 'household' scanner (as can be seen on my scanned album pages) |
