This is the picture of a real witch as most people probably imagine one! Part of a set on magicians, witches and such folk in fairy tales and legends.

The theater-rat Emma isn't really a witch, but she does look a bit like one and may even have scared the Moomins at teatime a bit. 2000

Set of 4x stamps issued 19820216 in honor of John Bauer 1882-1918.

He is best known for his illustrations of early editions of Bland tomtar och troll, an anthology of Swedish folklore and fairy tales. Bauer was born and raised in Jonkoping.

My (sadly stained) cover was postmarked 19930222 in KORSBERGA, "a locality situated in Vetlanda Municipality, Jonkoping County, Sweden with 694 inhabitants in 2010".

Here is the Hexenritt (Witches ride) part of an Austrian definitive set called Stories & Legends.

The background for this votive picture is a legend according to which a soldier, who had taken the long way from Hungary to ask the Blessed Mother to free him from an evil curse, refused to dance to a gypsy woman who asked him to dance, arguing that he was sorry for his shoes. The woman had threatened him with anger that he would no longer have shoes in the future. At the same time, she had stolen his handkerchief to conjure up the curse. And indeed, from now on no shoe lasted longer than two days. In his desperation he had now gone on a pilgrimage to Mariatrost to pray here. There the gypsy came riding on a big cat in the shape of a witch and gave the handkerchief back to the soldier and from then on he was freed from the magic of the constantly trodden shoes.

Way back in 1972 Sharjah (Emirates) issued a stamp with a drawing of the queen/witch taking a little boat to bring Snow White the poisoned apple. A small lake in a lush green forest must have seemed very special to people in Sharjah

The tale of the dead princess by Alexander Pushkin corresponds roughly to Snow White in central European tales. There are seven knights instead of dwarfs, but the jealous queen/witch poisons the princess with a toxic apple. And a devoted dog eats the leftovers so that no-one else becomes poisoned. pane of six stamps tells the story, DDR 1984

In the Polish stamp of 1968, the princess Snow White is still a young girl when the witch/queen brings her a basket full of poisoned apples. One in a set of eight stamps featuring fairy tales; the drawings were done by Helena Matuszewska (1930-2000), who has contributed to many Polish stamp designs.
