For years now, I have ask Scott to make mounts in sizes 78 and 88,
and all I receive is a we will consider your suggestion.

Size 78 fits blocks of four for 39mm stamps plus thousands of souvenir sheets.

Size 88 fits blocks of four for 44mm stamps plus thousands of souvenir sheets.

Does any one agree that Scott should make these sizes in strips?

I'm surprised they don't already have something that would work for your needs, do other brands have the sizes you're talking about? If so that might be the leverage you need to convince them. "If you're unable to provide me with the sizes I need, I will, unfortunately, be forced to take my business elsewhere."

Sizes 80 and 89 don't meet your needs?

I am glad Prinz (Scott) makes so many sizes. A financial type would say they need to reduce SKUs.

Hi Timm

I don't use Scott Mounts but Showgard. However, at times I have needed a non-standard size. I then use a mount "sideways". i.e.; the split Vertical. In many many years I have never had anything fall out. Try it.

I concur with jbcev80's experience. I've never done this but a used album I recently purchased had several stamps in mounts that were positioned vertically (i.e. the top and bottom of the mount was open) and the stamps remain secure in their position.

I'm a "random general" collector and my non U.S. focus is mostly topical but I mount any stamp I happen to possess. Used stamps are generally hinged but if I have a mint stamp / block / sheet I use a mount.

I became frustrated with having to figure out what size mounts I needed, and with having to maintain that diverse inventory. I have switched to top loading rather than split back mounts and either buy top loading mounts or divide a split back at the opening to create two top load mounts from that strip, using a Fiskars paper trimer.
Now I only keep about three vertical sizes of mounts, and trim the height to fit a particular stamp … less waste, less inventory, less frustration.
