Hello everyone. I am new to the stamp community ever since I purchased a box of old, used, mostly presidential stamps from the 1920's at a yard sale. I am finding that stamps are very complicated to identify. In the box I got about 100 Washington 2 cent stamps. They seem to be the most valuable but the prices I am seeing are all over the place. Are these valuable enough for me to do some serious research on or are they pretty common? Please see attached photo.
Thanks.

First thing to do is assume they have no value. These stamps were printed by the billions and were the workhorse stamp for domestic mail during their time. Next would be to separate them by perforation rate and separate any that have more than one straight edge. Then we can take it from there.

Also, anything in the lot that is 19th century could have some value - if you have any, please share scans/photos. Also, Welcome!

The more info we have as background, the more precisely we can point you in the right direction. Specifically, it would be good to know:

1. What source are you using to try to ID your stamps?

2. Where are you seeing these prices?

3. Do you have a perforation gauge?

And I agree, start with Stallzer's post. Re-read it until it sinks in. The U.S. is a large, literate country needing postcard-rate and letter-rate stamps in huge quantities. They have survived in huge quantities too. Yes, there are some scarcer varieties, but these are truly scarce and should not be expected in modest accumulations.

Thanks for the replies! I will definitely look into a gauge.
