j2186, only a few out of 2500. That's a lot of looking and so uncommon? Or maybe it says something about how common the 1 cent green is. 2016 Scott used is 0.25 for #35 vs 7.25 for #35b
I found a 1 cent green laid paper,35b, mounted in the space for the normal issue in a world collection decades ago. This was when I was less experienced.
So, after seeing floortraders creation I went back and checked mine. Mine is good.
According to the NVPH specialty catalog, there were almost 880,000,000 of the 1 cent green printed over a period of over 20 years. So they are very common. I think that the laid paper examples are so hard to find is because there are so many normal examples.
The paper varies and can be bluish or show horizontal structure. The NVPH lists a 'highly' vergé paper.
Not all stamps that show the horizontal paper structure are the rare varieties. They, also, should be comb perforated 12˝ with large perforation holes.
