Hi,

I've been looking through some sheets of 673a, ai and aii that I have (1 of each). On the 673aii HiBrite (HB) sheet, I've noticed that all of the 672's have the "Short Rigging" variety. I don't know if all the HB sheets had this variety and if it was common throughout the sheet or limited to just a few. If someone has some advanced knowledge of this variety outside of what is in Unitrade, please let me know. I would also like to know a value, if any different than the normal rigging stamp, as I will be listing all these sheets.

I've included a scan of one of the stamps, plus another, zoomed in on the short rigging. 2024 Unitrade shows the examples side-by-side on page 201 (scan below). An example of one of the stamps from my sheet is below that.

Thanks!
Steve

Does Unitrade show a catalogue sub-number and value for the short rigging example?

Gentlemen, there is a paragraph right alongside the image you posted. It states that "This issue has a number of minor varieties due to incomplete registration of the intaglio designs, color shifts, and other problems. Prices 3x-5x those of normal stamps."
In my opinion there are so many of these varieties in that whole ship/boats issue from "print/color misregistration and shifts" I dont look for them as they are quite numerous and hardly significant, to consider it a variety.

Edit- too many thumbs and not enough fingers causing spelling errors
