I have a Postcard with a January 1905 cancel for Scott #300b. The Scott Catalogue (2021) says that the earliest documented use of the stamp is March 22, 1907 for a single. Does this make sense? Two years earlier?

It is not a booklet stamp. It is a natural straight edge Scott 300 from a sheet pane.

The first booklet sheets were printed on January 8, 1907. First day of issue was March 6, 1907.
This is a first way to determine whether you have a booklet or a sheet stamp on a cover. Anything before March 6, 1907 must be a sheet stamp.

Nice usage though with the Towson & Catonsville streetcar cancel.

A booklet stamp would be appropriate on a RPO postcard, but alas, not two years before the stamps were printed.

That is a neat cancel, especially such a clear sharp impression.
