The first is a "Numeral" type French revenue circa 1871, and the second is also a French revenue, a "Republique" type of 1880 (if yours is gray).

Edwin,
a polite suggestion.

These forums build up to be a fantastic reference database,
and the "search" options go a long way to solving problems
dealt with prior.

I would encourage you to use a more defined thread topic
instead of "cant find..." try
"France Quittance" or "Austria 5Kr red on green"

Hope that makes sense

Your Austrian, I would suggest is a Stationery cut out,
is the paper thick like a postcard?
That generally suggests a postcard cutout, and is quite common,
The gentleman is Franz Josef 1st
(recognisable by those fantastic "mutton chops" )

Your first France~Revenue "Quittances" = receipts
is a variety referred as "Non burele" ie that is does not
have a background anti forgery design.
These revenues were designed/engraved by
Eugene Andre Oudine (1810-1887)

Cjd, thanks, guess they didn't bother to put those in my Scotts International albums as I cant find them.

Rod you are correct no need to be polite were friends just say hey fix that title... your very correct, I always forget about the search function and usally just post generic just keep reminding me I'll learn.

and yes to the thick postal card stationary it seems to be printed directly, thus its also probably not in my Scott's Album as well...

I'll have more mysteries tomorrow...

Thanks for that extra info, Rod. Looks like a steep premium for the non-burelage version back in the day?

That was fast Edwin!

Your second Revenue engraved by the same gentleman,
this time however, instead of choosing "Marianne"
he chose "The Protector" ....Medusa, the lass with the
snakes in her hair!
I just love this image, it comes from a very early
coin of Carthage IIRC of Ceres.
(Her nose and forehead share the same line, makes her
beautiful somehow)

close up of Medusa

wiki
In Greek mythology Medusa ,"guardian, protectress")[1] was a Gorgon, a chthonic female monster, gazing directly upon her would turn onlookers to stone. She was beheaded by the hero Perseus, who thereafter used her head as a weapon until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield. In classical antiquity the image of the head of Medusa appeared in the evil-averting device known as the Gorgoneion.

"Fond de Surele"

Readers can make their own mind up,
here is an ancient coin of Carthage, and France "Ceres"
Eugene Oudine has engraved even similar earrings.

Wow, Collin! that's exactly what I was thinking, I checked my
stockbook and I have quite a few non burelage, so perhaps it's a misplaced valuation

I am never confident reading French Catalogues
