Revenuecollector, I did not know you were the dealer in this
ebay Auction lot. I'm also happy to hear the stamp is on its way to me.
I prefer not to mention what I see until I have the stamp in question and can do a right and proper examination. My examination is most likely quite a bit different than other collectors. First think I do is soak the stamp in question, and let it dry of course.
I'm not saying there is anything on the stamp such as dirt or flecks, stains or anything else, but I always soak a stamp before I examine it. If it's mint with gum then that is different.
So with that in mind I will answer you I'll give you one thing I saw which I hope is not washed off when I soak the stamp in question. Look at the "A" in Exchange. There are other pick up points in the design elements I want to examine closely. My examination takes sometime to accomplish. You as a dealer (my guess, correct me if I'm wrong) do not always or mostly have time to examine the stamps you sell in great detail to the right and proper design elements and possible orientation of different design elements with each other.
Being you are an
ebay dealer, I'd like to commend you for your images, excellent images, but an image of each stamp's reverse side would also be nice, is it possible in the future to have images of each of your stamps on
ebay? This may be too time consuming maybe, or not cost effective for you, just a simple idea to think about.
Again, thanks for listing this stamp!
It appears to me (correct me if I'm incorrect) the cancel date is April 1st, 1870?
I'm especially interested in if you have any comments or other members of the area on and around the eyes, nose, lips of Washington.
Cheers
Dave
